Dear Martha,

Among other American pop cultural things that I love (the 1950´s pin-up girl, the diner, drive in movies, et cetera), I’m a sucker from Mexican Wrestlers: the Lucha Libres.

I know, if seems I’ve got the geography wrong – the lucha libres of course heritages from Mexico – but the culture of the wrestlers are big in the US, specially in California. One of my favorite bars in Los Angeles, for example, is El Carmen, which interior is full of framed lucha libres (plus, they’ve got great tacos).

If I would about to start a birthday party planning business, one of my specialties would be Lucha Libre Birthday Party for kids. I would sew little wrestler dresses out of long stockings and ski masks, and make shiny belts and capes. Oh, it would be supercute!

Anyway, until the market for Mexican wrestler parties is a bit more lucrative, I made these baby slippers inspired by…well, I guess you got the point now.
