Quilted Blanket from Mum
Dear Martha,
The apple doesn’t fall far from the three, as they use to say.
I guess in my family it’s true.
Or, for some of us, anyway. Out of four siblings, I’m the one who’s inherited the crafty gene. My brothers are more into, well, other stuff.
My Dad is a real handy man, doing everything from renovating kitchens and bathrooms to building fences, tree huts and fixing electricity. My Mum is amazing at sewing, putting up wallpapers (she’s done all mine) and at knitting (I was without no exceptions dressed in home knitted clothes as a minor).

In recent time, Mum’s made me this gorgeous quilted blanket out of different red fabrics. I absolutely love it! It has a 1950’s woods cabin kind of feeling, like it has been an interior in a Summerhouse for decades.
The blanket is one of my favorite interior pieces at the moment. It’s not only cute as a butterscotch biscuit, but also filled with my Mum’s love. All the time and effort she’s put in the piece!
That’s amore, as an Italian would have put it.
Love, Josefin
